The pneumatic door control units of the UK’s Intercity MkIV coaching stock were located in a boxed area within the toilet compartment. This meant severely restricted access for installation, repair or maintenance activities.
Accuride's model 3307 changed all that by enabling the units to be moved to a far more accessible area on the exterior wall of the toilet behind the passenger seat. Model 3307 has a disconnect feature that allows the user to remove and retrofit a complete control unit within minutes, making the process more efficient and cost effective. Maintenance and repair has also become much easier with the slide's lock-out feature, which holds the assembly in a stable position when extended.
